The Blessing of Time

With a new season upon us, a new school year, a change in weather, and entering the last quarter of the year, we quickly get too busy. Getting busy with homework, activities for our kids, and endless to-do lists. But in the midst of all that is going on in our world, let us use our time to Stop, Rest, and Connect. The psalmist said, “To number our days that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” Psalm 90:12 Stop and take a moment to talk with someone. To hear your child’s story. Their childhood is but for a moment.

Rest. Slow down your pace. Have some down time. Enjoy a few quiet moments. Connect. Connect to God’s people. Engaging in church activities and church fellowship. Connect with friends and family. Turning off phone notifications and sitting around a dinner table enjoying quality time over a delicious meal.

And most of all, connect with Jesus! Whether it’s in your office, your prayer room, having a conversation with the Lord while you drink your morning coffee (my personal favorite) or a hike talking with Him overlooking His beautiful creation. New seasons bring new goals and new ambitions. I pray we will always Stop and cherish the present moment. Find Rest in Our Lord and Savior, that He may renew our strength. And Connect to God and the people we love.

For In His presence there is fullness of joy, at His right hand are pleasures forevermore. And He is our fortress and strength. In whom our souls find rest. Psalm 62:1 and Psalm 16:11 May God bless you always!
