An Ear to Hear

I was praying the other day about what to put in this article. Then all of a sudden, God put a thought in my mind. “An Ear to Hear”. What does that mean? That could mean so many things. We hear so many sounds and words every day, but I know God wasn’t talking about that. See, Jesus used the phrase “let him hear” 15 times. What was He saying. I believe He was saying “Listen Up and pay attention” to His Word. It holds the key to eternity with Me.

The Lord gives us His Word to use as a guide in life. Really hearing what it says and obeying those words is our key to pleasing Jesus. We all sit and listen to anointed men of God preach to us and we read His Word daily. While that’s all good, but if we don’t really listen (hear) and apply what we hear with our ears and with our hearts and minds we are wasting our time. We will never be able to please our God. 1 Sam 15:22 “Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice.” John 14:15 “If ye love me, keep my commandments.

We find so many excuses not to listen, not to hear. We let so many things distract us. God is calling us in these last of the last days. He sacrificed all when He didn’t have to. He’s speaking to us from the pulpit and from His Word. Is it really that hard to hear and to obey the words of our Savior. If we will hear, really hear, and apply ourselves to what we hear, our lives would be so much happier – Happier in the Holy Ghost.

So, I guess God was telling me I need to have an “ear to hear”. What about you, He is talking to you as well. God is speaking to His church. Our time to hear is almost over. Let’s practice the true art of hearing so we will be able to hear Jesus call us His children home to Him.
