That Still Small Voice

Recently while I was praying and worshipping our Lord Jesus during church prayer, God placed a thought in my mind and on my heart. “That still small voice”.  Some in the world would say God didn’t place that in my mind.  They would say I was crazy to think that anyone even God Himself could place a thought in anyone’s mind.

Well that is ok because I know they are wrong.  See I know I’m no one special but I know I am a Child of the King.  Jesus told us about that still small voice in John 14:2 “I go to prepare a place for you” and in John 14:16-18 He said “And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.  I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.”

This Comforter as we know is the Holy Ghost.  It is the very Spirit of God that fills our souls when we open our hearts and minds and give our life to Him.  It is what makes us one of His children.  The still small voice is God’s way of speaking to directly to us.  He will lead you and guide you in all you do if you will only listen to that still small voice.  Jesus said in John 10:27 “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.”

Some will say I never heard that still small voice.  If you have been filled with the Holy Ghost, God has spoken to your heart or placed a thought in your mind.  The key to living for God is listening to and obeying that still small voice as He speaks to you and guides us through this life.  If we will just listen and follow that still small voice, there is no telling what great things God will do in our lives.

So I will ask you, when is the last time you heard “that still small voice?”
