The Battle That Rages

We as Children of God are in a battle every day. You will probably ask what do you mean. Well thanks for asking. The battles we face each day are physical and spiritual. Life affects our bodies but is also affects our souls. Things like, sickness, the stresses of life, our boss chewing us out for no reason, the next-door neighbor complaining about everything we do, those bills that grow faster than our paycheck, our families putting pressure on us, all the rest of the trials of this life and much more. Sometimes it seems like that even life itself is attacking us. All that stuff works on our bodies but even more so they work on our minds.

Some may say all that stuff is just part of life. In some respects, you would be right, but there really is more to it than that. If you will remember, Pastor just taught us that the only way to get to the soul is through the mind. He also just reminded us about life’s trials.

See, the devil is working hard to get us to fail every single day. He is throwing all this stuff at us and more to include the kitchen sink. He is using these things to try and cause us to doubt that God is in control of our life. He wants us to stop believing. He wants us to miss out on our time talking to and worshiping our God. He wants us to fail and miss out with God.

Those physical battles will tire us out, but even more so those spiritual battles can do even worse damage. The spiritual battle that’s taking place is the devil trying to get between us and God. If we allow that to happen, we will end up standing alone against this world and the devil. We are powerless against the world and the devil unless we have the Spirit of our Holy God living and breathing in our lives.

We can’t forget that God is the source of our strength and our protector. We have to have a daily walk with Him. The only way we are going to win the battle is to give it to God on a daily basis. That mean spending some time with the one we love the most each day. Never forget that Jesus is as close as the mention of His name. We have all read the end of the book, we win if we’re on the Lord’s side. Let’s call on Him and give Him praise for our victory Today!

2 Cor 10:3-5For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)

Eph 6:12 “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”
