Merry Christmas all! This is my favorite time of the year. It's a time to decorate, shop, gather with friends & family, eat too much, give & receive gifts and most importantly remember the birth of Jesus Christ and the gift He has given to us.
With Christmas, I love the brisk nights out looking at Christmas lights with my family and drinking hot coco. I love to go and try to pretend that I know how to ice skate. Then there is the holiday cheer and the decor everywhere you go.
Let us not forget about our community this season and all of the rest of the seasons. At conference last month in Fresno, Elder Vaughn Morton told us to;
"Go home and do something to reach your city."
This December, let's give to the single parents, widows, poor and the homeless. Proverbs 19:17 says; He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the LORD; and that which he hath given will he pay him again.
We can make blankets, fill a shoe box/bag of goodies, give a gift card, wrap a candy bar with scripture and hand them out or buy someone lunch. On your gifts you should attach a "Life Church" card to it and ask them to come to church.
Acts 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
I would like to challenge you all to give a gift to five different people by Christmas that you have never met before. Let us reach out to our community and those in need in the church.
Lord Bless, Bro. Curtis
