Having a Spirit of Revival

What is the difference between a Revival and a Revival Spirit. Well, I’m glad you asked. A revival is a scheduled time of special services that are geared toward renewing the church’s desire for the things of God. A Revival spirit on the other hand is a renewing of our walk with God through confession and repentance with a broken heart and a contrite spirit. And it’s a renewing of the hunger for the overflowing presence of God’s Spirit inside of us in our Daily life that we once had.

Personal revival begins by looking at ourselves and our own heart. We must examine ourselves and judge ourselves in the light of God’s Word so we won't be judged and condemned with those in this world that don’t life for Him.

Personal revival births a holy enthusiasm and a fire in us. And it is contagious.

We are to be a bright shining light to this dark and sinful world. The Holy Ghost is that light. Just like those old oil lamps, we must continually have God’s Holy anoint oil (the Holy Ghost) poured into us or our light will go out. The Holy Ghost is what allows us to walk holy and righteous before the Lord not we ourselves. Remember, there is no greater feeling than when God reach down and touches us and renews us with His Spirit. Why wouldn’t we want to feel that touch every day right now. It should be the desire of every child of God. Afterall, we’re going to be in the presence of our God and feel His Holy prescience for eternity.

While the church needs revival, every Holy Ghost filled child of God also needs renewing. There will be no lasting effects from a church revival if the individual members don’t get a revival spirit. If the church and us as individuals aren’t pushing ourselves to draw closer to God, we will become complacent and content in where we stand with God. Eventually, actions like those that made God angry with the church at Ephesus will happen. Jesus said in Rev 2:4 “Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.” I don’t ever want God to feel that way toward me and I know you don’t either.

We all need and must have more Holy Ghost fire in our daily lives. If the fire of the Holy Ghost has grown dim in you, then there is no better time than today to let God reignite you with a fresh infilling of His Spirit.

James 4:8 “Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you.”

May God Richly Bless You
