Making a Difference in Someone’s Life

Making a Difference in Someone’s Life

We as children of Jesus Christ are truly a blessed people.  All I have to do is look around and I am constantly reminded of what He has done and still does for me.  I can’t thank Him enough for His love and His hand of protection.  Every day we are bombarded with life’s heartaches, emptiness, suffering, and pain.  If it wasn’t for God’s mercy and grace where would we be.  Let me tell you I don’t want to know.  I am so grateful that one day someone shared the word of God with me and helped me find my way back to the Lord.  One of the greatest things we can do in this life is to share the Love of God and what He has done and show them the way to Jesus.

We have our Pastor who shares God’s word with us every week.  We have teachers, leaders, elders, and others who spend much of their time in life sharing God’s Word with others. But what about those who aren’t in a leaders or teachers positon.  How are they supposed to share God’s Word?

Glad you ask!  The bible points this out in Matt 5:14-16, “Ye are the light of the world.  A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.  Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.  Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

To me this means I need to be the best child of God I can be each and every day.  I want others to see what God has done and is still doing in my life.  I want people to see Jesus in me so that He might receive all the Glory.  There is none good in me but Jesus.  The best testimony we can give is not one of words alone but one in all that we do.  Actions speak so much louder than words.  We all need to tell others of Jesus and show others we actually mean what we say.

So how does this make a difference in someone’s life?  If we can but help one lost soul in a world full of lost souls find their way to Jesus, we can help make a difference.  Luke 15:10 “there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.”

So I challenge you.  Live every day like it is the last day you have here on earth to serve the King of Kings.  Live holy and right before the Lord. Take every opportunity that comes your way to share the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus with those around you.  Your testimony may be the only opportunity that someone has to find their way to Jesus.  Be that light that brightens not just your house but your world.  Pass onto those around you the Love that was shown to you when someone made a difference in your life.
