O give thanks unto the Lord, for He is good: for his mercy endureth forever!

This scripture constantly comes to mind throughout my day. Good times and bad I am reminded by this scripture that I have a God who loves me and shows his mercy and grace to me each day. Who am I that he is mindful of me?

When I look back on the 23 years that Jesus brought me out of the mire of this world and set me upon a rock he has shown me his love, mercy, and grace. I am amazed at what he has done in my life. From the Marine Corps to now, he has sustained me in all that I have done. He is not only my savior: but my provider, healer, and friend in time of need. He comforts me in times of loss and has given me strength when my mom died months after being born again and recently with the death of my dad. Through it all I see Jesus’ hand upon me and my family. How can I not thank him, O how do I want to thank him, O how I love him!!

I know that this started as what the Lord has done in my life, but “we all have a story, we all have a song,” and as the song goes we ought to be praising our savior all the day long! When you consider your life and its successes and failures “know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose.”

As Pastor mentioned recently, “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.”

JESUS DOES NOT MAKE MISTAKES; he called you for a purpose and this is something that we all must realize. When discouragement comes, and it will, reminding ourselves of this will help us say as Moses did “Rise up, Lord, and let thine enemies be scattered; and let them that hate thee flee before thee;” and remember to “give thanks unto the Lord, for He is good: for his mercy endureth forever.”
