ISAIAH 9:6 “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful; Counsellor; The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.”

Stories about Christmas have some fact and fiction. We celebrate in December Christ birth, Luke 2:8 “And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.” Shepherds in the field with flocks of sheep, this starts happening in the March time frame not in December, March time frame is when the Sheparding in the fields start to take place, is it important to know an exact date, not at all, just that it transpired in the beautiful glorious way the Word proclaims. Our Redeemer is born, an abiding presence of peace for our lives in these troubling times. Joy to the World, Peace on Earth good will toward man.

Christmas is set aside as a time of giving from the day our Redeemer was born as a babe in swaddling clothes. We enjoy giving as much as receiving gifts from loved ones. You’ve probably been asked what do you want for Christmas? Any answer you may give is greeted with a smile, (usually) a giveaway that the gift is on the way. It’s that gift you may receive that does not have a sender identified on the label. Gift come is various guises, a large box holding a set of car keys taped to the bottom, a small envelope with a large monetary value. The gift laying in the manger is a gift that is from God to us, once we have opened and received this free gift it is not only a life changing but eternal redemption for our souls. We celebrate Christ’s birth as a joyous occasion in order to give Him all glory, honor and praise! Many times, in life people will only know Christ through you and your testimony, let them see Christ in us. We who have received the gift, opened it and are receiving the blessings of God should want to pass knowledge of this gift to others. So, in this season of giving, let our lives manifest that Christ like gift of Love, one to another as He loved us.
