The Joy of Witnessing

Almost two weeks ago, I had the privilege of attending an outreach event with our church. As I was witnessing, I thought about how much joy it brought to me in the past and I truly cherish those memories. It had been a while since I witnessed by knocking on doors; what a joy it brought me! To knock on doors and to see children—so many children, mothers, fathers, and grandparents smiling and happy to see us. The children were thrilled to receive the balloon-made animals we made for them. I remember when we all finished witnessing, I felt so much joy; and that really made my day. I couldn’t wait for Holy Ghost Sunday to come around the next day so we could see all those families come to church and have God bless them.

Church, witnessing is simply sharing our beliefs of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and his teachings with others. In John chapter 4, Jesus had just finished witnessing to a woman when his disciples came and brought him something to eat. However, he refused it because his inner man was already satisfied with spiritual food. The Bible states in Proverbs 11:30 The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth

souls is wise. The fields are ready to harvest, and those who go out and harvest will be happy and satisfied here on earth, and also be paid wages in heaven.
